About
About the Blog…
WestHills Church is a community of faith on the western edge of the Altanta metropolitan area. Located in the community of Villa Rica, WestHills began meeting weekly on Easter Sunday, 2005. This blog provides the reflections of one member our church’s planting team, James Carroll. The thoughts and opinions expressed in these pages do not necessarily represent the views of WestHills, the entire staff, or her individual members… but they should. So until they’re all convinced… he’ll continue to write.
About James…
James grew up in a pastor’s home in rural Kentucky. At age five, he prayed to receive Christ and realized God’s call to ministry while in high school. He and his wife, Mikila, married in 1998 and moved from Kentucky to the Atlanta area in June 2003. He is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, KY and a two-time graduate of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY, where he completed a doctorate in December 2008.
James’ service as WestHills’ Teaching Pastor pre-dates our first official day. In this role he leads in a variety of capacities including: preaching/teaching, overseeing adult small groups, ministering to high school and middle school students, and championing personal discipleship.
James and Mikila have a daughter, Kenna, and a son, Jake.
